I have the 80GB Playstation 3. I’ve had it since December and I’ve got about 55GB free space remaining. I understand that I can buy an external hard drive (USB connection) and format it to FAT32 so that the PS3 can read it. My big question is this: It’s my understanding that Windows XP will not format an external hard drive over 32GB to FAT32, so if I’ve got a Windows XP computer and I need to format my 250GB external hard drive so that it is in FAT32 format, how can I do this?
Any other additional helpful info. you can provide will be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Before you continue, realize that you cannot install games to the external drive, or use game saves. You can back up your game saves to the drive (the unprotected saves), and play movies, music, and photos off the drive.
If you want to continue, you have 2 options:
1) Download a Linux LiveCD, such as Knoppix or Ubuntu. These disks include partition utilities. This is probably the easiest as it’s definitely free.
2) Download software such as SwissKnife to partition the drive using Windows. There may be other programs, and I’m not sure of any cost associated with them.
