the picture he has on the auction is not of an actual ps3, its just a drawing of what people think it would look like
Buying a playstation 3 on ebay?
There is a guy selling 6 playstation 3 60gb on ebay for 249gbp each, 100 pounds cheaper than most on there, plus the postage is free too.Im from the uk and these are uk versions.
His feedback is around 99 percent but going through his history he has only ever bought, never sold.
Do you think these ps3’s are ok or can you get fakes? And why is he selling them cheap, with free postage. Im temped to buy one before they go but i need quick advise.

I wouldn’t trust it. If it was real he would have an actual picture.

be very careful with this, odds are if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is a scam.
the fact that this person has never sold anything and is giving you such a good deal with free shipping leads me to believe that this account has been hijacked.
Here is how this happens:
Phishing emails are sent out daily to ebay users telling them they need to log in and verify some of thier information. There is usually a treat of some kind “you account will be suspended” unles you do “X”. There will be instructions in the email to click a link provided to log into ebay. this link will take you to a phony ebay login screen that looks exactly like the real one (these crooks are good at this). When you enter you info it is logged and now the crook has your username and password. he will immediately log into your account, change the password, and set up a phony acution to try and scam someone.
It sound like you are looking at one of these fake auctions.
Here is the “best” part. Let’s say you bought something from the crook and used paypal to buy it taking advantage of paypal’s “buyer protection”. When you report that you got screwed to paypal guess what happens, nothing. All paypal will do is freeze the seller’s account, which was probably also hijacked by the crook, until he makes good with your money.
By this time the crook has already cleaned out the unsuspecting paypal account and does not care if the hijacked account is frozen, he will just move on to the next victim and you are left with noting. Paypal’s buyer protection will not help you in this situation.
I would avoid this one if I were you. If you do want to take a chance on it, make sure you pay with a credit card. If you get hosed, just dispute the charge on your card and tell them you did not get what you ordered online and will not pay for it. Your credit card co. will reverse the charge and leave Paypal holding the bag. If this happens enough, maybe that will motivate them to close this enomorus hole in their worthless “buyer protection” policy.

I wouldn’t but the chance could pay off, what about through pay pal? Make any difference?

This sound like a scam, as other have said, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Ask the seller if you can pay cash on collection….no way of getting ripped off then….

HI,
I have ebay too & the only thing that I buy on ebay are HD-DVD movies for my Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on player & games. I will never buy a PS3 on ebay because, you can’t really trust the sellers. I know is cheap but, you can’t take the risk. Just go to the store & buy it at a game store.
I check the seller feebback & there is no history record. Do not buy this seller dude & just buy it on the game store.
