Can I get in trouble or get kicked out for waiting at a walmart for 5 hours to get a playstation 3?

Playstation 3
tooter_doodles asked:

A friend of mine and I want to get our boyfriends the new playstation 3 for christmas – the only local place we can purchase them is @ walmart and they are limited 10 per store and are being released @ 12:01 am – so we plan on going into walmart about 5 hours earlier and hanging out in electronics so we get first dibs, but can they kick us out for soliciting? Technically we are there to purchase something?

No way, people do it for concert tickets all the time. Technically you are just waiting to purchase something.

I wouldn’t think so….people do it all the time. You may not be the only one there.

you would only be soliciting if you’re selling something; i’m not sure what wal-mart’s policies on loitering are. however, to be safe, maybe you could like..rotate or something.. going in and out of the store.. like each person stay for a while and then go out.. but i’m sure a lot of other people might be having the same idea you are. i don’t know how good your odds are of getting one if they only have 10 systems, and they probably wouldn’t let one person purchase more than one.

I don’t think they should be able to kick you out for waiting.

You aren’t soliciting anything. You are a potential customer. You need to let them know what you are there to do so they can instruct you what they have told the many many other people that will be there at the same time. You’ll probably be hopping in line behind a hundred people only getting there 5 hours early. I’m not for sure this is how it will be, but we wanted the XBOX 360 last fall and we lived on an island in Alaska…we couldn’t even get one there. One of your best bets if you miss this opportunity tonight is to find a military person and get them to buy it tax free at the base, like we ended up doing.

    nope. they cannot.

just make sure you dont set up a tent or really annoy the staff or anything tho. cos if you do well yeah then they will kick you out.

Loitering isn’t always the best way to go about it as some stores have some pretty strick rules for it. Even arriving 5 hours early is no guarantee you’ll get one because they may not release them in that department. A couple of hours max is needed – try chatting up the staff in that dept so they’re aware of you and don’t call security – let them know why you’re there. Maybe they will give you some inside info as to where they’ll be located. Good Luck

if you are still afraid that they will kick you out then go in the store and a few thing in your cart and browse around the electronics section while on the phone pertending to find an item at the end get the PS3 and empty your cart of all unnecessary items. and purchase PS3 HOPE i help and hope you get PS3

PS if you don’t wanna do that then apply for a job there lol OK talk to a worker there or manager and let them know you are there for the PS3 so they wont cause a problem or call security
