Do I need a Chill Station for my PlayStation 3?

Playstation 3
Amy C asked:

I just bought a PlayStation 3 and I never really used it for a very long time. I have a lot of things to do. Can the PlayStation 3 overheat? Do I need a cooling system for my PlayStation 3?
Do I need a charging station for my controllers as well?

No you don’t need that, unless you are planning on playing it for several several hours at a time. Thats just some extra BS, that companies are trying to make money off of. I have had a PS3 for 6 months and it has never over-heated.

if you play for a long time get a cooling station or built a box sort of thing and put a little fan in it or you can buy a cooling station on eBay that’s wat i did only for like $20 i leave my PlayStation 3 on all night when i am playing a game (on accident

Technically it CAN overheat, but mine never has and I have left it on for a week straight running and tehre are many people who have run 24/7 (when they’re not playing games) when it was availible. If your PS3 overheats, then odds are that you got one of the 1% of all PS3s that are defective, whcih is really unlucky and should not be a problem to return it, but odds ar that this is not the case. So no, you do not need a cooling system for your PS3, but if you are paranoid, then I would reccomend the Pelican one as having its own power supply prevents running the risk of chocking the power supply for the PS3, as was the problem of cooling systems for the 360. As the PS3 only uses 150-200 watts from its 350 watt power supply during normal operation, this should not be a problem anyways, but a little extra protection can’t hurt.
