Question About Cablevision HDTV service?

Cablevision advertises that it provides HDTV service free but from what I understand you have to get a HD box from them wich costs $10 more a month than a regular box. Is this true? If it is the service is not really free? Right?

I want to be able to use my playstation 3 directely onto a projector?

Im thinking of getting a projector for my living room but i dont have a hdtv. and i cant play games that need an output of more the 480i on my regular tv… is there a way i can link the Playstation 3 directely to the projector and get the hd quality i need?? Thanks.
