Should We Just Call it “iPhone iPod?” The iPhone iPod Review, is it what is cracked up to be?
Monday, December 3rd, 2007The iPhone was released in the UK and I think I have a new name for it “The iPhone iPod” don’t ask me why it just has a ring to which I like, so through out this article we shall call this crazy new device from Apple the iPhone iPod because frankly, that is exactly what it is!
The iPhone iPod *Sniggers* is the latest mp3/phone from Apple, in fact its the first mobile phone from Apple, they will now be going head to head with some of the biggest mobile phone giants in the market but instead of just diving in from the shallow end of the pool Apple have jumped straight in to the deep end! But will they float or sink, this is a question we won’t find out till the iPhone iPod has been for atleast a year or so.
But let’s not beat around the bush, what makes the iPhone iPod stand out from the crowed?
The fact that this phone is identical to their latest mp3 player (The iPod iTouch) it’s also got many grand features that i’m sure any techno buff would love to get their hands on. One of the many cool features is that you can connect directly to YouTube and play videos straight to your iPhone iPod (Yeah calling it that must really start annoying you right now…) which is great for fun and games around the office or at home with friends and family.
It does what most modem phones do but the iPhone iPod does it way better, it’s like a mini home entertainment system in your hand, its got high quality video play back on a high quality touch screen. Though I will have to admit, having to clean the damn screen every five minutes is becoming a pain since any one with clammy hands will understand where I am coming from here. iPhone iPod has a full glass screen which is nice when it’s clean but soon as a thumb mark hits that bad boy the fun starts to dwindle away, take it from me having flashy gear is nice but it will soon annoy you having to clean it all the time.
But where can you get an iPhone iPod?
In the USA I can easily say I have no idea, all I know is that the only network that supports the iPhone iPod is AT&T which I don’t hear great reviews about, but in the UK O2 have been named the number one network to support the iPhone iPod. Apple are working along side O2 to bring a more enjoyable experience but if your on other an other network you might have to go down a different route to get your iPhone iPod to work…
The iPhone iPod Hack! Don’t be scared, its nothing bad, some geeks on the Internet have managed to unlock the iPhone iPod so it works with other networks, though once unlocked the iPhone iPod will only work on GSM networks and if your network does not have this then it will not work.
That concludes my review on the iPhone iPod, if you want to get hold of these bad boys then i’d check out Freebiejeebies Network where it’s the cheapest possible way of getting hold of this device instead of paying £256!
