Why does AOL Instant Messenger disconnect whenever I turn on my Playstation 3?

My computer is on a Linksys wireless router. When I turn on my Playstation 3, it connects wirelessly to the router for internet access. I manually set it with an IP address and it works fine. However, I always get disconnected from AOL Instant Messenger. What’s causing that? Does anyone have any ideas?

The playstation 3 is probably overtaking the port on which AIM is communicating on. By default this is port 5190. Yours may differ. The below link will give you more details about it than you could imagine.
It is well known in the PS3 and AOL IM circles that the two don’t get along very well. PS3 is a bully and probably pushed AOL out of the port you are using to connect.
